PFLAG Louisville is thrilled to join everyone via Zoom in August! This month we’re excited to bring back our educational programming, we’re hosting Rev. Dwain Lee with Louisville Showing Up for Racial Justice (details below). Immediately following the presentation, we’ll have our virtual support and fellowship session. We look forward to seeing you there!

All over the country, and even beyond, people are demanding change to ensure racial justice in this country. The struggle for LGBTQ+ equality and justice has advanced along its own path, with some similarities to, and some differences from, the movement for racial justice. What can we, members of a predominantly white LGBTQ+ organization, do to support this movement? What actions would be helpful? What actions wouldn’t? In short, how can we be the most effective allies possible?
Please join us for our meeting on August 16, when we’ll hear from Rev. Dwain Lee. Rev. Lee is a member of the Coordinating Team of Louisville Showing Up for Racial Justice (LSURJ), and a member of the LSURJ/Faith planning team. During the meeting, he will offer information about how PFLAG members might best be supportive allies to racial justice organizations led by people of color, and will discuss the mission and focus of LSURJ locally.
Rev. Lee has served as the Pastor/Head of Staff of Springdale Presbyterian Church in Louisville for the past four years. He is a graduate of Penn State University and Trinity Lutheran Seminary. Formerly owning his own architectural firm for many years, he is also a past President and Chairman of the Board of Montaña de Luz, an orphanage in Honduras for children with HIV/AIDS. He has two adult daughters living in Columbus, Ohio, where he lived for thirty years. He currently lives in the Germantown/Schnitzelburg area of Louisville with his husband, George Yu, an award-winning, internationally-recognized violin maker
