We’re so glad you’ve decided to become a member of PFLAG Louisville. Below you will find the membership application or you can download a PDF application — just print it, fill it out and mail it to our Membership Chairperson. Let us know if you have any questions.
And, before you fill out the application and see that there’s a cost involved with being a PFLAG member, let us tell you some of the things our organization does and spends money on and hopefully that’ll encourage you to continue:
First of all, we are an all volunteer organization. Not a single person on our Board of Directors or within PFLAG Louisville is paid. We do it out of the kindness of our hearts and because we’re passionate about our roles in the community.
Secondly, many of the dollars raised by PFLAG Louisville are then transferred to our Bruce and Margaret Lincoln Scholarship Fund. Every year PFLAG Louisville awards one or more scholarships to local students.
Finally, any other dollars that leave our account are used only to further our mission and vision. We make donations to other local agencies (such as Louisville Youth Group, Louisville AIDS Walk, Sienna and the Office of LGBT Services at the University of Louisville) and help fund events in our community (such as Pridefest). We have such a small operating budget because we are fortunate enough to be given free webspace, free voicemail and a free area where we hold our meetings.
That being said, please consider becoming a member or making a donation today and rest assured knowing that your dollars are making an impact on our community.
